Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Department Manager, Network Project Management. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation.
We are seeking an experienced and influential IT leader to provide guidance and expertise to support the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will leverage strong communication and influencing skills to collaborate with multiple teams, government representatives, and stakeholders, ensuring project success and supporting the Sentinel program's engineering, schedule, cost, and risk management efforts. This role will operate in a matrix environment, providing recommendations to leadership and providing guidance and expertise to program managers and individual contributors both with and without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • People Managment and Matrix Leadership: Provide guidance, expertise, and oversight to program managers, influencing project planning, coordination, and execution. Collaborate with program managers to ensure successful project delivery, and offer guidance on project management best practices, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Project Guidance and Support: Offer expert advice and guidance on IT infrastructure projects, including hardware and software deployments, upgrades, renewals, and network configuration changes. Ensure project activities are aligned with the Sentinel program's goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with government representatives, leadership, and stakeholders to report project status and updates during IT Governance meetings (RRB and CCB). Secure necessary project approvals through the RRB/CCB process, providing insights into the status of on-premise networks.
  • Project Tracking and Management: Utilize JIRA and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, metric reporting, and workflow management. Provide guidance on project tracking and management best practices, ensuring program managers are using these tools effectively.
  • Project Prioritization and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with program managers, Cybersecurity, and IT Ops teams to advise on project prioritization and resource allocation, ensuring effective utilization of resources and alignment with program goals.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration among program managers, providing training, guidance, and mentorship as needed. Encourage collaboration and coordination with mission partners and stakeholders on cross-functional projects.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and develop recommendations for enhancing project management practices, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and Sentinel program goals.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Degree and Years of Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma and +18 years of relevant IT project management experience and 2+ years of experience in a leadership or advisory role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and +14 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or advisory role
  • Master's degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and +12 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or advisory role
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure projects, including hardware and software deployments, upgrades, and network configuration changes
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management tools and processes, including JIRA and Confluence
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to think critically

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Security + Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience working with government partners and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of network engineering, software development, and cyber security principles
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies and tools

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
