It is the primary responsibility of the DEN Aide to provide activities for children from kindergarten through 5th grade in the DEN program, to comply with the overall procedures and policies of the program, and to be an effective witness for Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Keep children safe and accounted for.
  • Maintain behavior standards and complete disciplinary forms, as necessary.
  • Complete routine paperwork.
  • Provide first aid and complete accident/injury reports, as necessary.
  • Greet and monitor adults as they pick up children.
  • Assist in daily clean up and closing of the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the DEN Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year paid or volunteer experience in working with school-age children. 
  • High school diploma, with some child development or ECE units desirable. 
  • Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with coworkers and to relate well to all school-age children.
  • Ability to perform light physical work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently and exerting a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects and perform activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position’s duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are dynamic. This requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The employee will be using his or her personal vehicle; therefore, he or she must hold a valid driver’s license in the state where he or she is based and have appropriate auto insurance as required by law. The employee needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work assignments, and do well under pressure. He or she must also demonstrate professionalism and integrity, take initiative, and exercise confidentiality. Finally, the employee must understand and apply all school policies and procedures, follow instructions, be detailed oriented, and have good follow-through on all projects.
