The Demand Planner will support two of our brands in all forecasting responsibilities. The role will manage the brand team’s global forecasting process while responsibility for the final forecast rests with the brand leaders. The Demand Planner will provide forecasts, analytics and support to help all parties make educated decisions regarding the final forecast and the forecasting process. The Demand Planner will organize the monthly forecasting cycle, Life Cycle Management process and facilitate the monthly S&OP process.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare the first pass of the forecast for all forecasts levels (where agreed to) in a particular brand by using either, a statistical method from our Demand Planning tool or a manually developed forecast.
- Execute the forecast in collaboration with the regions for all new products.
- Verify and ensure that the forecast is maintained monthly for a 9-month forecast to 18 Months to include new products, product launches and placeholders. This includes the expected line plan out to 15 to 18 months depending on the brand.
- Responsible for ABC code/lifecycle management, including providing support data to the brand team for decision making and executing on those decisions made with MDM.
- Develop relationships with our wholesale customers to help improve the overall forecasts to include on-site visits where relevant and communicating phase out decision to the supply chain planning team.
- Interact will the brand, sales-force, account managers concerning updates to the forecast.
- Interact with the brand leaders and the sales teams to resolve issues and conflicts regarding the forecasts.
- Collaborate closely with Global Intercompany Logistics Planning counterpart to reflect supply changes / issues appropriately in the demand plan.
- Manage the S&OP meeting process.
- Organize the monthly forecasting cycle for all the primary forecasters detailing out deadlines, expectations and rules that must be followed.
- Validate the forecast against the budget, to come to an approved SKU forecast for loading into SAP.
- Analyze the selling performance report to identify trends and issues within the forecast that can be used by the brand leaders, sales teams, and where appropriate other teams in the organizations.
- Analyze the demand forecast to insure that the forecast meets the organization footprint according to product mix, core SKUs mix to new product launch, phase out products, budget, line plan, forecast level, market and minimum order quantities.
- Measure and track all KPI’s including selling performance reporting, consumer performance reports, and inventory projects, inventory turns, inventory days of supply.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in a similar position
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Knowledge of supply & demand principles and forecasting & demand planning techniques
- Understanding of channels of trade and the differences between the retail and wholesale business
- Knowledge of procurement process
- Strong analytical decision making skills required
