Description

Deltek Business Process & Accounting Enablement Partner

Location: This is an on-site position in one of the following J-U-B offices: Meridian, ID, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Salt Lake City, UT or Kaysville, UT.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, and the Deltek teams  to improve and align business processes within Deltek Vantagepoint. You will help translate business and operational needs into effective workflow solutions that drive consistency, efficiency, and scalable financial operations across the organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in optimizing how Deltek supports our growing employee-owned company while collaborating with the Deltek Administrator on system-related enhancements and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Process Design & Workflow Execution

  • Design, document, and maintain field accounting (PFAs) and corporate accounting workflows within Deltek, including billing, revenue recognition support, cost capture, and related financial processes.
  • Translate accounting requirements into Deltek-aligned workflow execution, partnering with the Deltek Administrator on technical feasibility and setup.
  • Identify gaps between current accounting practices and Deltek capabilities, recommending process adjustments to reduce workarounds or system customization.
  • Ensure workflows support consistency, accuracy, and auditability across projects, organizations, and locations.

Finance & Accounting Enablement

  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support specifically for accounting and finance users.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on how accounting teams should interact with Deltek for day-to-day financial operations.
  • Partner with the Controller to support close processes, recurring activities, and compliance needs without performing transactional accounting work.

Customization Evaluation & Governance Support

  • Participate in customization and enhancement decisions, evaluating requests through the lens of accounting impact, process fit, and system sustainability.
  • Advise on when configuration or customization is appropriate versus when accounting workflows should change to align with standard Deltek functionality.

Collaboration with Deltek Administrator

  • Work in close partnership with the Deltek Administrator, who remains responsible for:
  • System configuration and changes
  • User setup and security
  • Technical troubleshooting and Deltek support

Data Quality & Reporting Readiness

  • Ensure that accounting workflows produce clean, consistent, and reliable data suitable for reporting.
  • Support accounting teams in understanding Deltek financial data and outputs.
  • Partner with internal PowerBI resources by clarifying accounting logic and workflow outcomes for proper business dashboards and reporting—without developing reports or dashboards.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain documentation for accounting-related workflows, controls, and usage standards within Deltek.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort within accounting processes through better system use.
  • Stay informed on Deltek best practices related to accounting and finance workflows and recommend improvements as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience within Deltek required
  • Proven expertise in configuring and supporting accounting and financial management teams
  • Familiarity with project-based professional services firms, engineering-focused firms preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams
