Avantgarde brings a wealth of experience from traditional finance and has been active in DeFi since 2016, notably as founders of the on-chain asset management protocol Enzyme (token MLN) which launched on mainnet in 2017. We work closely with a number of core teams and protocols such as Uniswap, Safe, Gitcoin, Nexus Mutual and others to help them optimise treasury management strategies, improve financial sustainability, and support long-term growth.

DeFi Operations Associate

Role description 

We are looking for a DeFi and smart contract enthusiast to work closely with the Head of Asset Management and Head of DeFi Research, on DeFi operations and automation. Responsibilities include; 

DeFi Trade and Investment Operations 

• Manage wallet set up & multisig processes, including structured record keeping of processes working closely with the COO 
• Work with Traders and third parties to coordinate trade execution and signing processes, adhering to specific internal trading parameters for timeliness and best execution across heterogenous groups of portfolios
• Assist with setting up new on-chain vaults, open ended fund vehicles, and bespoke wallet infrastructure
• Having shadowed the Head of DeFi Research, eventually assume end to end responsibility for on-chain trading activity

Asset Management Operations

• Assist with BAU cadence of fund operations, including: rebalancing, NAV verification from administrator, performance reporting, and fund board meeting preparation.
• Assist in development of monitoring & alerting tools and ongoing risk management processes

Research 

• Assist Head of Asset Management with research and data analysis, including input into DAO treasury research, governance and proposals where appropriate

Automation 

• Contribute to driving automation across the business

Required 

• Enthusiasm for DeFi and crypto with an understanding of the blockchain economy
• Hands on experience with on-chain transactions and smart contract interactions
• Data analysis experience 
• Great attention to detail, with an understanding of the importance of documentation and record keeping e.g. trade logs
• Self-starter with a strong desire to drive efficiency in internal processes, curious to learn from others in order to build new systematised processes
• Good communicator with a strong work ethic 
• Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and multitask to achieve multiple deadlines

Preferred

• Demonstrated experience with Gnosis SAFE infrastructure and multisignature hardware wallets 
• Knowledge of DeFi infrastructure and programmatic interaction with prominent DeFi protocols 
• Experience of Enzyme protocol, a bonus
• Prior experience in trade operations at a financial institution, hedge fund or crypto exchange

Qualifications

• Quantitative academic background and comfortable fetching and transforming data
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python for task automation
• Ability to read Solidity/Javascript code a plus
