Citizenship and Science Academy of Syracuse is excited to announce an opening for a Dean of Students for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional committed to fostering a positive, structured, and student-centered school environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Dean of Students will:
- Consistently implement the school’s Code of Conduct
- Train and educate staff, students, and families on behavior expectations and policies
- Maintain a visible and accessible presence throughout the school
- Analyze behavioral data to identify trends and implement action plans
- Identify students in need of behavioral support and develop targeted intervention plans
- Build positive relationships with students and families to support a respectful school culture
- Collaborate with counselors and teachers to develop and implement RTI (Response to Intervention) processes
- Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and parents while maintaining professionalism

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Capacity to develop and manage systems that improve organizational efficiency

Science Academies of New York (SANY) is a New York State certified public charter school network operating tuition‑free K–12 academies in Central New York. SANY emphasizes mathematics, science and technology with college-preparatory programs, small classes, and services for a diverse student population. The nonprofit network aims to prepare students for higher education and civic involvement through rigorous academics and community-focused supports.
