Receive and follow instructions and directions to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, program, and perform preventive maintenance on site DCS Systems. Issue design packages for Mobile Site projects including electrical, instrumentation, and analytical equipment specifications, wiring details, and updating existing drawings as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine & preventative maintenance on process (DCS) control systems.
-
Respond to DCS Department call-ins as required.

Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks during project startups and I/O checkout on customer systems including Delta V, Siemens PCS7, APACS and various PLC’s.

Assist I&E Technicians in the troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and analytical equipment utilizing schematic diagrams, P&ID’s, blueprints, and other specification documents. · Order parts and material from storeroom necessary for project installation and completion.

Frequent use of Prodok, AutoCAD, PlantDoc and SAP Systems.

Maintain/update DCS rack rooms and MCC’s with industry standard installation methods and good housekeeping practice to maintain safe and clean work areas.

Continual learning of instrumentation/electrical and DCS troubleshooting, industry installation methods, and general knowledge of site systems.

Obtain basic knowledge of processes involved in the production units.

Participate in on/off site vendor or technical training as needed.

Lead, plan, manage, and perform maintenance, design, and DCS System
programming according to division of tasks within the DCS Group.

Ability to interact in a productive manner in the DCS Group environment with a willingness to learn new skills in various areas of Technical Services.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Requires a minimum of five years of experience in DCS, instrumentation, or electrical maintenance within an industrial environment, or completion of a two-year trade school program in Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) or related trade plus at least three years of hands-on industry experience.

Satisfactory completion of the Evonik Degussa Corporation self-study Instrument/Electrical course.

Satisfactory completion of the Instrument/Electrical job task certification and required time in grade as an Instrument/Electrical Mechanic.
