About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server environments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and reliability while supporting development teams and business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and monitor PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of production database environments.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Optimize database structures, queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and production issues.
- Manage database security, user permissions, and access control.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using scripts and tools.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions.
- Experience with database security and permission management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, or similar.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is an advantage.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases is an advantage.
- Relevant database certifications are a plus
