We are looking for a talented and experienced Database Modelling & Administration Specialist to join IT Operation & Control Room Department and contribute to the development and enhancement of our Operations Reliability & Security.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with development and architecture teams to design scalable, efficient database models that support business needs while maintaining high reliability and efficiency.
Continuously monitor and optimize database performance in production environments, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring optimal query execution.
Work proactively with development teams to implement efficient query structures and database schema designs that enhance performance from the outset.
Define and validate SQL scripts (DML, DDL, PL/SQL), conducting performance tuning prior to deployment in production.
Conduct performance analysis and tuning on single queries, stored procedures, packages, and database modules based on inputs from development teams or through monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, EM, and Datadog.
Analyze execution plan changes caused by Oracle engine version upgrades, ensuring query efficiency across database versions.
Establish data archiving, migration, and clean-up procedures to ensure compliance with data models and system performance best practices.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience in database modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning in large-scale environments.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Expertise in Oracle (versions 11 to 19, both on-premises and cloud) and MySQL (versions 5 to 8) database technologies.
Deep knowledge of SQL tuning, indexing strategies, execution plans, and query optimization.
Experience in using performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Enterprise Manager (EM), and Datadog to analyze and improve database efficiency.
Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, including development, architecture, and operations, to ensure the best database solutions.
Hands-on experience with data migration, archiving strategies, and clean-up procedures to maintain database efficiency.
Fluency in English and Italian is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
