As a Database Engineer at Resource Data, you will support and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems along with cloud infrastructure environments that power mission-critical applications. You will work closely with developers, IT-security teams, and government stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing database and infrastructure solutions.
This role focuses on improving system performance, supporting modernization efforts, ensuring data integrity, and translating application requirements into effective database and infrastructure designs within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems in enterprise environments
  • Maintain and optimize cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting critical applications
  • Translate application and software requirements into database and infrastructure solutions
  • Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and schema modifications
  • Support system integrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes in coordination with stakeholders
  • Perform backup, recovery, and data integrity monitoring activities
  • Conduct security reviews and support IT-security validation and compliance efforts
  • Document system configurations, processes, changes, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure system operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and system architecture

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration or engineering
  • Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and system design principles
  • Experience supporting system backups, recovery, and data integrity processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments combining legacy systems with modern cloud infrastructure (specifically GCP)
  • Experience working in consulting environments involving direct client interaction and project delivery responsibilities
  • Experience delivering IT solutions with government agencies
