- Four (4) years of professional experience in relational databases and operating as a Database Administrator (DBA).
- Experience in relational Database Management Systems (DBMS) design, schema design, database hardware and software design, query languages, and performance tuning of database systems.
- Active DoD IAT Level II certification
- Administer, configure, and maintain Navy and DoD enterprise databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies for maximum efficiency.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and restoration processes in accordance with Navy policies and best practices.
- Develop, test, and deploy database scripts, stored procedures, and automation tools to support operations.
- Ensure database compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies, including DISA STIGs and RMF requirements.
- Manage database access controls, user permissions, and roles to maintain data security and compliance.
- Support data migration, conversion, and integration across systems and environments.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, schema documentation, and configuration baselines.
- Collaborate with developers and analysts to optimize database queries and improve application performance.
- Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for critical databases.
- Perform regular database audits to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, escalating to higher-tier support as needed.
- Prepare and deliver database status reports, performance metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in planning and implementing database upgrades, patches, and modernization initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior database and system support staff.
