Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our Microsoft SQL Server environment. The DBA will ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of databases while collaborating closely with infrastructure, application, and support teams to deliver seamless data services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot MS SQL Server instances across development, test, and production environments.
• Enforce database standards and best practices covering performance tuning, security hardening, backup/restore, and change management.
• Perform proactive performance monitoring, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies (indexing, query tuning, configuration).
• Manage database access controls, roles, and permissions in line with least-privilege principles.
• Design, test, and maintain backup and recovery procedures to meet SLA/RPO/RTO requirements; conduct regular restore drills.
• Configure and manage SQL Server Availability Groups (Always On) for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Perform routine Windows Server administration tasks (patching, updates, basic troubleshooting) as they relate to SQL Server hosts.
• Liaise with application support team, developers, and other support teams to resolve incidents, implement changes, and support releases.
• Document procedures, runbooks, and configuration details; contribute to knowledge-base articles.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
• Proven experience administering MS SQL Server (2019 or newer) in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for performance, blocking, deadlocks, and connectivity issues.
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining database security standards (authentication, encryption, auditing).
• Hands-on experience with database performance monitoring and optimization tools
• Proficiency in managing database access (logins, users, roles, permissions).
• Demonstrated ability to review, enhance, and test backup/recovery strategies aligned with business SLAs.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for cross-team incident resolution and change management.
• Practical experience configuring and managing SQL Server Availability Groups (Always On).
• Foundational Windows Server administration knowledge (patching, services, basic networking). • English language proficiency – minimum B2 level (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have – ~5% weighting):
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (SSRS, Power BI) and Data Warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schemas, partitioning).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, T-SQL) for automation.
