Helpdesk Support Engineer / Database Administrator (Databricks)

SUMMARY:
The Helpdesk Support Engineer / DBA for Databricks provides frontline technical assistance to users working within the Databricks environment, ensuring smooth operation of data workflows, notebooks, and integrations. This role involves diagnosing platform issues, resolving user queries, and collaborating with engineering teams to maintain performance and reliability. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to and resolve user-reported issues related to Databricks notebooks, clusters, jobs, and workspace access
- Troubleshoot job failures, performance bottlenecks, and data ingestion errors
- Assist with user onboarding, workspace configuration, and permission management
- Monitor platform health and escalate critical incidents to engineering or cloud support teams
- Document common issues and solutions in a knowledge base to improve self-service support
- Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with external
- Support scheduling and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Autosys) used in conjunction with Databricks

- Familiarity with cloud computing, databricks, databases and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with remote desktop tools and VPN configurations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a helpdesk engineer.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Databricks.
