Zen Strategics, a Titan Technologies company, is seeking a Database Administrator – Appian / MySQL / MariaDB to support a high-visibility federal program at the Pentagon. This is a critical role supporting enterprise data environments and application performance.
Job description
This position requires an experienced database professional with strong Appian environment experience, responsible for database design, administration, optimization, and support within a secure federal ecosystem.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database structures to support business requirements
- Administer and optimize MySQL and/or MariaDB environments
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance across systems
- Create and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation
- Support Appian-based data environments and workflows
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to implement technical solutions
- Support enterprise data operations including integration, security, and governance
You MUST have:
- 10+ years of database engineering / administration experience
- 5+ years administering MySQL or MariaDB environments
- 4+ years of experience working in Appian environments
- One DoD 8570-approved certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CySA+, etc.)
- One database-related certification
- Strong experience with relational databases (schema design, performance tuning)
- Experience supporting enterprise-level data environments (DevOps, analytics, governance, security)
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Public Trust Security Clearance or higher clearance is required.
- Ability to provide a signed Letter of Commitment
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field OR 15+ years of relevant experience
