Who we are looking for
We're looking for an enthusiastic problem solver to join Nike's Global Procurement Sustainability team. This role supports the development, rollout and institutionalizing of sustainability-related activities to Procurement and across Nike. The team's work includes developing and maintaining the company's renewable energy portfolio in service of Nike's 100% renewable energy in owned & operated spaces by 2025 target; and expanding Nike's use of suppliers that meet sustainability standards.

We're looking for a candidate who possesses some special skills, including a curiosity about creatively solving problems, experience working with and managing large datasets to pull insights, ability to analyze and resolve business problems. We need someone who has flexibility to shift between different projects and meet challenging deadlines, ease in connecting with internal and external collaborators, and discernment including financial and risk analysis.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you'll be working with the Procurement Sustainability team to document business processes as they are developed, provide subject matter expertise in sustainability and renewable energy, and implement benchmarking on various initiatives. You will exercise muscles in collaboration and communication by working across different Procurement Categories. You will also work with relevant partners to understand their needs and concerns, work with program leadership to develop and articulate communication and rollout plans, and communicate status, metrics, issues, risks and decisions.

You'll dig in deep to the data of Nike's owned & operated energy use, updating forecasts as our business and strategies change, reporting on business unit, site, country, and regional use.

You may perform market research and identify new opportunities to pursue in renewable energy and climate reduction across business geographies, and then conduct financial and technical analysis of opportunities and RfP submittals.

You will find yourself assisting in the deployment and execution of sustainable supplier standards, reporting on performance of projects and contracts, and documenting and improving reporting processes and managing assigned projects with an eye to customer needs while looking for opportunities for improvement.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You'll be working with the Global Procurement Sustainability team based at Nike's World HQ to assess opportunity, support pursuit of new efforts, and report on progress against Nike's ambitious sustainability goals. Colleagues will include: members of the Global Procurement team globally, including category and data teams, functional sustainability teams across owned and operated areas (offices, distribution, air manufacturing, and stores), and Nike's Responsible Supply Chain sustainability team supporting our achievement of long-term goals for Scope 3 emissions.

WHAT YOU BRING To be successful you must haves:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, Procurement, Public Affairs, Political Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, and translating analysis into insights
  • Exposure to global sourcing/procurement practices
  • Familiarity with landscape of renewable energy and energy procurement mechanisms, and bodies and regulations shaping the global renewable energy landscape
  • Exposure to carbon accounting principles and standards, including use of environmental attributes/renewable energy certificates
  • Familiarity with sustainability impacts, impact & materiality assessments
  • Demonstrated education, experience and/or special interest in sustainability
  • Keen interest in problem solving and process improvement
  • Ability to work cross functionally with different Procurement categories and business partners spanning Nike's global business
