Job Overview

The Supply Chain Analyst Role at Komatsu will be interacting with Internal and External Stakeholders which include but will not be limited to:

  • External Suppliers and Vendors - All business levels
  • Regional and Local Supply Chain Representatives
  • Accounting and Finance - scrapping list acceptance and financial directions
  • IT - Development of any Supply Chain tools and testing to maximize Procurement efficiencies
  • Service Planning Manager and Planners - coordinate with Service team to ensure Procurement support of Service customers and needs
  • Legal - Global compliance initiatives
  • Engineering - Review of BOMs for E&O reviews and NPD's
  • Operations Planners


This Role will provide support for the Komatsu Mining Supply Chain Group. The Supply Chain Analyst Role can also potentially be based at a Komatsu Mining Manufacturing Plant in the USA.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Supply Chain Initiatives and Projects including but not limited to process identification, standardization and documentation and support of SC systems such as SAP, Ariba, Spend Cube, Supplier Portal, etc. and others Implementation. May assist with system implementations for Komatsu Locations.
  • Provide support for Strategic Sourcing Teams by running reports, performing data analytics, creating data and associated charts/graphs and communications for team to leverage spend and cost reductions. Interprets data to drive sound decisions - focus will be leveraging spend and cost optimization.
  • Drives, supports, and provides reporting and analytics for continuous improvement and supplier development and management in coordination with the Category Managers and New Product Development - Cost Optimization Project Managers to leverage spend and cost reductions.
  • Prepares engineering drawings and quoting packages Performs analysis on RFQs. Develops Bid Analysis Summaries.
  • Manages all SC systems to ensure supplier collaboration and spend cube. Performs system testing for changes. Makes recommendation to meet business needs. Drives system development to support initiatives. Assists with resolving day to day issues. Trains suppliers and internal employees on the system and process.
  • Maintains Procurement Master Data. Sets up suppliers in SAP, create info records, creates and maintains price databases.
  • Supports inventory management with "what if" and system setting recommendations based upon business conditions. Tracks supplier inventory programs.
  • Develop and document Strategic Sourcing / Procurement process, policies and procedures (including supporting ISO certification.).



Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, IT, Business, etc. or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience.
  • At least 2 years of systems analysis experience working with software development teams to implement solutions or solve issues in a supplier collaboration system.
  • Experience supporting programs related to large change initiatives or project implementations in an ERP environment (SAP, SNC or Ariba knowledge is a plus).
  • Must possess analytical/critical thinking skills and the ability to determine root cause. Ability to document processes and procedures.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • ISM /APICS Certification a plus.
