The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

Strategic Affordability Analysis - Manager (Remote: work responsibilities will be done primarily offsite)

The Global Business Services, Strategic Affordability Analysis team (GBS/SAA) has an immediate need for a financial professional to provide overall financial support for the RI&S Division's Supply Chain and Estimating & Pricing organizations. This individual will provide leadership and vision in our Strategic Affordability Analysis organization on complex pursuits. This individual will act with considerable independence, making final operational decisions affecting all aspects of the RI&S - Strategic Affordability Analysis function. This individual's work product and leadership will have a direct impact on Raytheon's competitive posture in the defense marketplace and customer satisfaction. For these reasons, a strong background in leadership, financial planning, cost accounting, estimating, and analytical techniques is desired.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct financial factfinding audits at Raytheon partner subcontract sites; interfacing with senior level internal and external management.
  • Provide financial assessment of supplier proposed pricing through proposal analysis, historical financial analysis of supplier P&L and Balance sheet statements.
  • Provide written analytical assessment of individual costs elements associated with supplier proposals to provide assessments of fair and reasonable supplier pricing. (summary reports of approx. 10-15 pages in length)
  • Provide compliance advice and counsel to RI&S Strategic Affordability, Supply Chain, Estimating and Pricing teams and Program management.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and provide financial counsel to RTN Program office and Supply Chain team by providing what-if scenarios to achieve RTN program profitability targets.
  • Discussing and supporting compliance and financial findings with Government auditors and Contracting officers.
  • Manage a team of financial analysts in completing Cost and Price Analysis of supplier proposals.
  • Supporting supplier negotiating teams to achieve maximum value for Raytheon and our Customers


Required skills:

  • Strong in-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, and Defense Federal regulations (FAR, DFAR, CAS)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams by influencing without authority.
  • strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior leadership experience managing and mentoring teams
  • Prior experience identifying, analyzing and resolving complex issues. Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of significant scope and complexity.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling using such tools as Excel is mandatory.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization including customers and RTX supplier team members.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise written reports describing analysis performed and the rational driving conclusions recommended.


Desired Skills:

  • Desire to participant as a dynamic team member by applying your business and financial skills to help SAA obtain its goal of becoming a world class organization.
  • Background in Cost Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of financial systems and tools such as SAP, BW and database mining software is a plus.
  • MBA or Masters degree in Finance.

Required Education and Experience:

  • This position Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.


US Citizenship:

  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
