Job Description:

  • The Enterprise Data Management Services (EDMS) team is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead the efforts to define functional & technical architectural solutions for Data Management Platforms. In this role you would be accountable for systems design, technical architecture, strategy and technical standards and governance. Within the solution development lifecycle, this role will also be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case. They will also provide consulting during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases, and reengaged to perform benefits realization.


Role Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide and communicate technology strategy & solutions across different audiences including technical (developers, engineers & other architects), managerial, business executives and/or vendors.
  • Ensures architecture is flexible, modular, cloud ready and meets enterprise requirements for security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with business and technology organizations to align technology strategy to business strategy and help define architecture that modernize our technology, optimize business processes, and enable the business to compete in the evolving emerging environment
  • Works with Product Owners to define roadmap for the next generation platform implementation.
  • Contribute to driving architecture strategy to keep it aligned with industry advancement and new technologies.
  • Produce detailed technical design to accomplish stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop overall implementation strategy with internal and external technical resources and drive the solution and integration efforts.
  • Provide current best practices and alternatives as part of the technical specification document.
  • Participate in performing Proof of Concept (POC) and new framework builds for various upcoming technologies to meet business requirements.


Required Skills/ Experience

  • Data Platform and Reporting Experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience designing, building and implementing Big Data solutions in a Hadoop ecosystem
  • Experience in Python, Spark modern data pipeline technologies
  • Application Design, Development and Operation - Bank of America experience desired but not required
  • Cross Domain Solution Design
  • Architecture Artifact Creation
  • Communication skills to enable solution adoption across disparate audiences from senior business leaders to application developers and infrastructure engineers
  • MS 365 Office Suite of applications: Ability to create & revise PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Visio documents for executive audiences


Desired Skills/ Experience

  • Experience in financial regulatory reporting
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies
  • Working knowledge of various technology platforms along with experience in NPT/EOL upgrades.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.


Enterprise Role Summary:
Directs, manages, plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of the Systems Architecture section. Develops, plans and schedules the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of the corporate systems architecture including the applications, data, and infrastructure architectures and assures that this architecture is integrated with the business area architectures and data governance. Assures that the corporate architecture is consistent with disaster recovery plan objectives. Develops reports and presentations on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff. Coordinates the development of the overall project plans and timetables. Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Provides input on policy issues.
