About the the Team:

We're looking for a talented Senior Research to join our growing Product Design team to drive empathy and evidence-based decisions through research and data science.

The Product Design team works to create a meaningful impact for our customers by developing deep customer empathy through research and design to dramatically move the needle for our products, customers, and business. It’ll be your job to own and drive research projects from start to finish and drive impact by combining quant and qual data in compelling ways.

About the Role:

*Our roles are remote first, and can be based anywhere in the US (#LI-Remote).

What you'll do:

  • Play a key part in the product development process by helping the team to understand the opportunities, contexts, audience, and experiences
  • Develop research best practices, templates, processes, and methodologies to provide product teams with critical insights as quickly as possible
  • Be a strategic and trusted partner to teams across RudderStack and empower coworkers to develop a research-driven mentality
  • Facilitate customer interviews, product tests and manage the documentation, notes, and analysis
  • Collaborate with PMs, Designers, Engineering, and Marketing to define research problems and work on solutions
  • Communicate the meaning of research insights and analysis in a succinct and engaging way that ensures all involved are aware of the research approach and objectives
  • Write about, present, and share what you and your team have learned throughout the company

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • 4 years + working as a user experience researcher on digital products
  • Experience driving research by identifying and acting on opportunities to improve how we work
  • Expertise in conducting end-to-end user research studies; planning, recruitment, execution, analysis, and delivery
  • An in-depth understanding of the product areas you work on and the key dynamics of the competitive space
  • Experience offering ideas or opinions on roadmap planning in order to deliver meaningful impact to customers and the business
  • An expert understanding of rigor and methodological validity in research and how to get the most out of a project with tight constraints
  • Experience working in a startup environment and am comfortable with both high-level research as well as Lean methodologies
  • Experience leading by driving debate, calling out inconsistencies, and contributing ideas and energy to problems that a team is facing
  • Ability to guide and teach cross-functional team members to improve their customer research skills (planning, facilitation, interviews, and analysis)
  • The ability to articulate the learnings and consequences of the research insights you provide
  • A passion for building amazing products, not just conducting research
