The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Collections Center of Excellence (CCE) team that has developed strong partnerships and working relationships with other key functional areas. The Senior Risk Analyst of Collections and Recovery Policy and Treatment is a critical role that will optimize and manage Forbearance Programs, ReAge, and Settlements. This individual will bring new ways of thinking, data sources, technologies, and capabilities to SoFi. This individual will serve as the voice of CCE for our Consumer Lending products and technology teams in pursuit of a best-in-class Collections & Recovery Policy and Treatment. They will make trade-offs across collections and recoveries effectiveness and efficiency while balancing regulatory and reputational considerations.
- The ideal candidate will possess an analytics background and the strategic acumen that draws strategic insights from data using database and statistical analysis tools to inform decisions and support SoFi's overarching strategic goals relative to loss prevention
- This individual will bring new ways of thinking, data sources, technologies, and capabilities to SoFi. They must also bring strong collections industry knowledge, including a sound understanding of relevant regulations
What you'll do:
- Design, construct, and optimize Forbearance, ReAge and Settlement Programs across all Consumer Lending products at SoFi Bank, N.A
- Build "digital first" offer suite and create an offer waterfall tool to help agents match members with the right offer
- Enhance marketing for forbearance offerings to drive additional volume for improved/customized offers including self-service
- Create Policy and solutions that allow members to set truly affordable forbearance terms and helps to extricate them early from delinquency
- Develop advanced account level NPV settlement model and strategy
- Enforce Credit Risk & Loss Mitigation Policy and Framework and comply within Legal/Compliance/Regulatory guidelines
- Independently lead the entire project lifecycle for complex data analysis, forbearance program development, offer strategies, and program P&L
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current loss mitigation policies & procedure, draw conclusions, and exert influence at all levels of the organization
- Work with Operations and Technology partners to identify gaps in system/operations process flows to ensure alignment of strategy/intent, execution, policies, state legalities and regulatory guidelines
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of Collections and Recovery industry experience with a focus in risk analytics work experience
- Expertise in analyzing large datasets using SAS/SQL/Python/R and other statistical analysis packages to read test results and deliver on strategies to improve member contact and overall loss prevention
- High motivation to drive change, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively in a complex and fluid environment
- Possess an analytics background and the strategic acumen to draw strategic insights from data using database and statistical analysis tools to inform decisions and support SoFi's overarching strategic goals relative to loss prevention
- Strong collections industry knowledge, including a sound understanding of relevant regulations like FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA
- Proven analytical skills in conducting sophisticated analysis using customer performance data to solve business problems; a demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate analysis to peers and senior management
- Affinity for problem solving and detailed work
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to collaborate well with teammates and business partners and influence business decisions
Nice to have:
- BS/BA preferred and/or equivalent work experience
- Experience solving data heavy problems
- Machine learning experience
- A passion for well-tested code and utilizing testing frameworks
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
