Responsible for administering and/or advising on the full life cycle of Records Management, from record creation through disposition. Engages with business clients to ensure effective identification, classification, storage, retrieval, tracking, and final disposition of all physical and electronic records. Provides communication, advice and training on the full range of Records Management systems, processes, and guidelines / requirements. Ensures company compliance with established procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides Records Management program/system development, administration and support company-wide.
  • Consults with business stakeholders on legal and regulatory requirements for managing, retaining, and disposing of records.
  • Develops, publishes, and delivers awareness communication and training on records retention and management policies and practices.
  • Creates, implements, and monitors records lifecycle management strategies, including proper legal filing and retrieval, storage processes, and disposition strategies.
  • Assists business teams in the development of appropriate Record Management risk assessment, audit, and issue remediation plans.
  • Liaises with IT and key business stakeholders to select and deploy Records Management systems and processes.
  • Handles inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures effective and appropriate Records Management support for internal and external audits.
  • Ensures effective systems are in place to classify, file, protect, retain, and dispose of records in a manner that adheres to company policy and is legally compliant.

  • Ensures alignment between the Records Management function and the organization’s overall vision, values, mission, and business strategy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current and proposed company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements for record identification, storage, retention, and disposition.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal communication skills and levels of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Communicates effectively with all types of audiences, internally and externally, including senior management.
  • Effectively represents WFM to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations.
  • Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
  • Handles a diverse range of issues requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including business trends.
  • Analyzes complex and ambiguous problems.
  • Identifies opportunities for process and procedure enhancement to drive efficiency and improve service levels.
  • Demonstrates strategic understanding of WFM’s and supported region / stores business objectives, competitive strengths, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.
  • Collaborates with functional and cross-functional Team Members on a regular basis.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Ensures team commitment to and delivery of excellent customer service.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
