Senior Healthcare Economics Consultant
As a Senior Healthcare Economics Analyst you will be in a unique position to assist a growing business proactively plan, react to new developments, and implement improvements across multiple departments. Your work will involve looking at large, complex data sets to identify key drivers of trends impacting operations, business efficiency, client satisfaction, and medical costs. You will lead efforts to investigate key business problems in several functional areas, resulting in final analyses ready for leadership teams to utilize and deploy. You will lead research into ambiguous problems and potentially seek new/external data sources. You will analyze and interpret data from various sources, identify appropriate measurement methodologies, design reports, and work with technical, operational, and payment teams to drive performance. Your analyses will be used to create viable, real - world solutions in a complex health care landscape.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses and reporting designed to inform and produce recommendations
  • Communicate analyses to internal and external customers in writing and verbally to solve complex business problems
  • Collaborate with leaders of strategic initiatives to drive analytic information into business actions
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of programs being measured
  • Predict emerging business needs and develop innovative analytical solutions to evaluate them
  • Lead projects to completion by contributing to database creation, statistical modeling and financial reporting
  • Provide consultative advice on use of data as subject matter expert and interpret/summarize analytical findings
  • Develop analytic projects involving benchmarking
  • Support Negotiation and IDR analytics for unit price justification
  • Monitor results of negotiations and evaluate outcomes


Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Actuarial, Math, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
  • 4+ years of analytical experience in financial analysis, health care pricing, health care economics or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, and information acquisition tools
  • 5+ years of advanced level proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience with SQL/MS Access


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years using medical claims data including hospital, ancillary, and physician.
  • Tableau development and data visualization techniques
  • Healthcare provider contracting analysis and/or understanding of common reimbursement methods
  • Team-oriented and adaptable individual who can thrive in and contribute to a start-up environment
  • Proven problem-solving skills that generate demonstrable, meaningful, positive impacts
  • Committed self-starter with proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion
  • Willingness to adapt to a continuously changing environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and verbally to individuals and groups
  • Experience creating and explaining analytical models related to healthcare data to internal and external clients
