We are seeking a highly motivated, customer focused Senior Data Analyst for a full-time role supporting the data needs of our internal customers and stakeholders here at Aristocrat. The successful candidate will be responsible for mining through large amounts of data to provide descriptive and diagnostic analytics that inform and advance the design, develop, and build some of your very favorite digital games found in casinos throughout the world.
This is a REMOTE role with preference for employee proximity to Las Vegas, or the Pacific time zone.
What You'll Do
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Business and Data Analyst to join our global data and analytics team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Aristocrat. In this role, you'll be proactively leading the identification, gathering, grooming, planning and development of business data requirements and data sources to support the global data strategy for Aristocrat. You will be working with business stakeholders, data engineering and IT to drive requirements for discovery, ingestion, cleansing and use of the various key data sources to increase product, customer, market and competitive understanding.
Together with the Data & Analytics team members you will create and socialize the plan for a central analytical and reporting data source. You will identify the required resources and teams to execute the plan, in order for business customers to begin using the new resource and ensure it meets their needs and provides top value to the organization. You'll be discovering and mining through large amounts of data to provide descriptive and diagnostic analytics.
This role will be responsible for gathering data and conducting analysis in support of key business requirements. You are an expert in data acquisition, statistical analysis, data review and visualization. The role also has the responsibility for specifying and preparing test data sets, defining test environment requirements, and assisting Senior Team members with data planning.
What We're Looking For
Job Requirements-
Data Discovery and Onboarding:

  • Understanding business need and show flexibility in answering multiple types of questions with data. Ability to interpret and summarize complex data succinctly into high level presentations
  • Extensive experience pulling and massaging data from multiple sources, and analyzing it with a variety of tools, ensuring high organizational value is added to a central data core
  • Work with Data Engineering and IT to improve the quality, availability, and accessibility of data, by building and refining a databank of data and information which will lead to insight generation for the various internal stakeholders
  • Identify and onboard / ingest external data sources to aid in advanced analytic modeling
  • Maintain high quality documentation on the business system/solution to feed into the Data Governance function
  • Support creation of analytical structures on top of the data (eg: data cubes) to ensure standardized usage of analytical data and its consumption by reporting services or analytical software, as well as better integration into applications by end-users


Data Management:

  • Extensive experience in writing SQL scripts to validate database systems and for backend database testing
  • Expertise in writing complex relational database queries and technical analysis
  • Experience with backend database and data migration testing
  • Excellent understanding in Data Warehousing and ETL testing concepts
  • Assisted in the implementation of QA processes to ensure correctness of data flowing through each stage
  • Experience in working in projects using both Agile Environment and Waterfall methodology
  • Experience on working with multiple data sources and data tools like RDMS, Flat file, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Dataflow or similar, Talend or similar etc


Data Strategy Support:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the division's business directions and operational challenges in order to anticipate and interpret ATI's business intelligence and data requirements
  • Identify use cases and set priorities to accelerate the Global Data Strategy implementation
  • Strong Project Orientation with excellent Team Involvement, client coordination and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive requirements gathering, development and execution of online gambling analytics for RMG
  • Work with VP Global Data Product Strategy to set priorities, build business relationships and promote Data strategy


BI and Data Analytics Support:

  • Work with Director of BI & Analytics to lead creation and maintenance of self-serve dashboards based on identified needs of the various stakeholders, providing easy access to data and insights
  • Support development of innovative approaches to analyze business data. Be able to translate data into convenient and concise insights and provide interpretation of these insights as requested
  • Lead standardization and automation of reporting where possible
  • Play a key critical role in the implementation and use of BI applications and promote the use of BI tools throughout the organization


Qualifications-

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • Deep understanding of Gaming business and gaming data environment preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills and business understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analytical results effectively to both verbally and in writing to a technical and/or non-technical audience. Excellent presentation development skills
  • Sharp analytical and statistical skills. Attention to detail
  • Results driven approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and supporting multiple teams within a business
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to report progress and quality outcomes
  • Able to maintain the up-to-date issues log, track defects clearly and manage to resolution and closure


Experience-

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence or analyst role
  • 5+ years' experience with SQL, ability to aggregate, gather and manipulate data
  • 5+ years' experience with Tableau, Power BI or Looker
  • 4+ years' experience with Database Management (Google Cloud, Azure, or Snowflake preferred)
