Job Description
Within the data science department ("Analytics & Behavior Change"), you'll have the opportunity to drive the next level of Medicare product and service quality, and member experience at a leading national B2C healthcare brand. We're looking for aspiring analytical enthusiasts to drive member engagement and behavior change in Aetna's Medicare Business, using advanced analytics, predictive modeling, segmentation, and statistics that leverages business acumen and good data storytelling to help Aetna improve member well-being and its product and services.
Our Team
Medicare Analytics is one of the largest teams within Member Analytics of Analytics & Behavior Change. Our team is organized by business verticals - Medicare STARS, Revenue Integrity, Scalable Assets, and CVS Activation. This role is within our Medicare STARS team focused on contract analytics
Role Responsibilities• Collaborate with business partners and leadership teams to translate and simplify ambiguous problems into logical frameworks which inform solutions to drive short and long-term business strategies• Utilize SQL/Python to perform analyses of large and complex data sets to solve multiple business problems with advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses and broad knowledge of the organization and/or industry• Investigate optimization opportunities to existing programs to drive values from different member population and/or communication channels• Design experiments to test hypothesis and quantify impacts of improvement initiatives• Summarize results and create presentations to inform business partners and leadership teams of periodic results, optimization opportunities and/or remediation
Required Qualifications• 3+ years of experience in SQL working with big data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, etc.) and multiple data sources• 3+ years of experience in Python/R (Python is strongly preferred) to extract actionable insights from large and complex data sets and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, etc.)• 3+ years of experience in statistical analysis, experiment design and evaluation• 3+ years of experience creating communication materials (e.g., PowerPoint, etc.) and presenting to non-technical/analytics audiences

Preferred Qualifications• Experience in complex problem solving, ideally working for top tier consulting firms• Strong knowledge and experience in statistical methodologies, complex experiment design and evaluation, and intermediate to advanced level of ML knowledge/experience• Practical knowledge about healthcare industry, preferably quality programs such as Medicare STARS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
or
Master's degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, etc.)
