Be a key member of the Data and Analytics Group. Work with a variety of business partners from across the enterprise to both support the development of innovative programs to improve patient outcomes as well as reduce cost and improve efficiency across CVS. You will enable data-driven strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for existing product improvement and new product development.
Your experience will include translating business needs into analytic questions, using new tools and technologies in Cloud Platform - GCP and BQ. You will use languages such as Python and SQL to access data and develop semantic data layers, metrics, reports and Tableau dashboards.
In this exciting role, you will design and conduct rigorous analyses of pharmacy claims, medical claims and other data translating your analytic findings for appropriate business and customer audiences.
As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be responsible for data stewardship in improving the quality and usage of data in Enterprise Data Warehouse and source systems, and ensuring high levels of data quality in source systems and data warehouse platforms across the enterprise. You will analyze, evaluate, test, and participate in designing the integration of multiple data sources into the data warehouse, remediation of data deficiencies in warehouse environments. You will use your strong communication skills and understanding of data modeling concepts to collaborate with members of the business, operations and IT teams in order to understand requirements and research data anomalies and to ensure consistency and quality. You will also test newly developed functionality to ensure the highest level of data quality exists upon delivery.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in data analysis, developing analytic and reporting methodology in Cloud Platform, Teradata and other big data platforms
7+ years of experience using SQL or Python to access, extract, manipulate and summarize data.

Preferred Qualifications• Independent, curious, eager to tackle a wide variety of problems, and able to quickly develop knowledge and understanding of new domains and underlying data sources.• Experience as a project lead with cross-functional teams to develop innovative analytic approaches leveraging all available internal and external data sources.• Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver in the fast-paced evolving environment.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Experience developing, testing, documenting and maintaining standardized outcome metrics meeting diverse business needs.• Experience developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining methodologies for standardized and repeatable reporting for internal and external audiences.• Ability to interact with and influence decision-making by non-analytical business audiences.• Experience in test-and-learn analytic concepts as applied to patient communications in a healthcare or related setting.• Working knowledge of statistical methods.
Education
Bachelor's degree is required preferably in computer science or engineering or related field
Advanced degree in a qualitative field or MBA is preferred or in a related field
