Job Description
The primary main intention of this role is to align strategic objectives and tactical demands. Primary roles - help define the structure of fraud, authorization, and authentication organization in terms of its governance structure, business processes, business services and products, business information and stakeholders; outlines the relation to strategic goals towards a working system; advocate and drive adoption of "best practices" to ensure standardization, modularity and composable business architecture outputs across the enterprise. Key Deliverables include: Capability Model, Capability Heatmaps, Capability Maturity Assessments, Capability Impact Assessments, and Capability Health Assessments & Capability Roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, maintain and enhance the business capability model along with maturity/optimization framework to drive enablement of the long-term roadmap
- Ability to glue various aspects of an enterprise strategy, design, modeling, and solutions ecosystem
- Act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and work flow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery
- Work closely with the domain/technical architects to create/maintain all business architecture artifacts and inventories
- Drives and facilitates the right discussion to identify business capabilities in relation to current and future business objectives
- Interprets and contextualizes strategy for operational needs
- Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals
- Develops specific artifacts to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution
- Helps streamline and rationalize the IT enablement process
- Synthesizes and synergies the work of others drawing from disciplines such as strategy development, business analysis, process management, operations, and systems analysis
- Partner in the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging capabilities, creating capability heatmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and opportunities
- Presents recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely and can focus on key points to portray the intended message or purpose
- Oversees and consults with project teams. Creates high-level design and/or system impact documents as needed. Ensures system strategy is understood and is being adhered to by monitoring application designs and interfaces. Helps organize and facilitate design discussions, helps clarify business requirements, and communicates technical concerns and trade-offs to business leaders.
- Develops system architecture strategies and roadmaps. Communicates strategy and approvals from business and technology stakeholders. Aligns business goals and system strategy with a roadmap.
- Works with business partners to understand business strategies and goals. With this understanding, assists business with developing a set of high-level system requirements and impacts that can be used to initiate projects to meet the business goals.
- Mentors and assists more junior team members.
- Understands and tracks technology trends and strategies, represents Discover Business Technology when working with external parties.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
- 6+ years of technical or other relevant experience
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of technical or other relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we'd also look for:
- Many years (5+) in senior Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Solutions Architecture roles in Purchasing, Supply Chain, and/or Logistics System areas
- Practitioner of composable thinking, business architecture, and technology
- Extensive experience in planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
- Experience in modeling business processes and enterprise architecture by using various tools and techniques (e.g. UML)
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
