Please review the following job description:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide consultation and technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Manage Oracle databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
2. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
3. Installation of patches and hotfixes.
4. Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives.
5. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
6. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes, refreshing lower environments.
7. Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement and designs.
8. Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems

9. Must be able to support operations Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5pm EST.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field

2. Five to seven years of experience in software development or a related field

3. Five to seven years of experience in database technologies

4. Five to seven years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2. 5+ years Oracle administration experience required.

3. Experience with Oracle RAC systems

4. Experience with very large multi-terabyte databases

5. Strong working knowledge of Stored Procedures, Triggers, DTS Packages, DBA tasks, and PL/SQL

6. Basic APEX knowledge

7. Perform backup and recovery procedures using RMAN

8. Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools

9. Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

10. Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for Oracle.

11. Experience working with AIX/RHEL operating systems

12. Experience writing Unix shell scripts for maintenance activities

13. Strong operational knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager

14. Ability to participate in the team's on-call rotation providing 24X7 on weekly basis

15. Perl exposure (nice to have)

16. Oracle certifications a plus

17. Excellent written and verbal communication

18. Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality

19. Ability to organize and plan work independently

20. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

21. Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
