The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Analytics, this position's primary responsibilities will include building an analytical capability for the Customer Management team at Ally Credit Card. This individual will be leading analysis to support 2nd card offers, graduation strategies, cross-sell opportunities and the portfolio monitoring system. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering results, must be an innovative and strategic thinker, willing to challenge status quo, can learn quickly, is self-motivated and detail oriented. The position will work with key leaders within the Customer Management organization, as well as partner groups such as finance, compliance, legal, and risk.

Ally Credit Card is a team that has combined the experience of seasoned talent from across the card industry with advanced analytical and machine learning techniques to develop and optimize our business. The Work Itself

  • Own the roadmap for Ally Credit Card Customer Management analytics, and prioritize initiatives working with key stakeholders.
  • Focus on improving portfolio performance by changing customer offer strategies, champion the change across the organization.
  • Lead analytics around 2nd card offers, graduation strategies, cross-sell programs and other areas of the business, focused on finding opportunities to improve performance through segmentation, modeling and ultimately offer decisioning.
  • Manage the priorities using sound control processes (daily/weekly/monthly) to effectively identify, assess and manage risk.
  • Collaboratively work with matrix & vendor partners to ensure alignment with Ally's strategic imperatives.
  • Influence the roadmap and priorities of other partner groups by proactive engagement on topics related to Customer Management strategy.



The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Modeling, Economics or a similar discipline with quantitative focus, master's degree preferred.
  • Significant experience (5+ years) and knowledge of consumer financing industry (e.g. auto, card, mortgage etc.)
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role focused on data/statistical analysis, ideally experienced in treatment strategies with a champion/challenger (test/control) framework.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of data mining and classification techniques, minimum 4 years of experience using SAS/SQL and/or Python or R for data analysis and portfolio segmentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present proposals and vision to executive leadership.
  • Experience working with (and ability to influence) matrix partners that impact change capability, such as IT, Compliance, Legal, Vendor Management and Operations.
  • Candidate should possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; should be a critical thinker with strong attention to details.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and quantitative models preferred.
  • Experience with segmentation and modeling software such as Python or R preferred.
  • Experience in credit card industry or related financial services products preferred.
