Role Description:
At Oak Street, Population Health drives both our clinical and economic model and is focused on delivering high-quality, cost-effective care.
The Manager, Population Health reports to the VP Population Health and is responsible for Oak Street has the tools, processes and culture to understand our care model’s impact on medical costs. In order to achieve the best patient outcomes at a reasonable cost, we need to understand our patient’s healthcare utilization and unit costs for a range of healthcare services.
Core Responsibilities:
Design, complete and synthesize in-depth analyses of medical claims data
Share analysis findings with executive leadership through written and verbal communication
Design new medical claims tools and reports for operational and clinical leaders
Collaborate with business intelligence and application development teams to build, implement and manage medical claims tools
Educate other team members across the organization through the development of onboarding and training materials
Support operational and clinical leaders in leveraging medical cost tools, reports and analyses
Increase transparency into medical claims analytics through excellent documentation
Manage team of med cost analysts
Translate med cost insights into operational advice
Other duties as assigned

5 years of experience in healthcare analytics or consulting
Advanced understanding of medical claims data
Analytical and data savvy
Advanced Excel skills
Proficiency with SQL
Management experience
Strong intellectual curiosity, willing to get into the weeds to thoroughly understand questions
Incredible level of organization and detail orientation
Passion for excellence, willing to go the extra mile to achieve objectives and ensure consistently high quality work product
Quick learner comfortable with a high level of ambiguity
Ability to succinctly summarize large amounts of information
Strong accountability and discipline against timelines and deliverables
Collaborative working style, able to work cross functionally
Bachelor degree required, graduate degree encouraged
US work authorization
