Sr DataAnalyst - Purchasing

GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Senior Information Analyst partners cross-functionally with teams throughout the enterprise system to develop and assess business hypotheses. You will leverage your technical and analytical skills working with leaders to influence business strategies, improve processes, and support identification of significant cost savings opportunities. The primary responsibilities of the position include imbedding analytical solutions into decision support to enable diagnostic evaluation, predictive planning, and prescriptive decision making in everyday problem solving across the end-to-end procure to payment functions including: integrating data from disparate sources, developing analytic plans for projects, conducting analyses, applying appropriate analytical techniques to aid in the translation of data into information, interpreting results, drawing conclusions, generating visualizations to convey powerful and compelling stories, and presenting findings / recommendations. In addition, you will mentor lower level analysts in technical and analytical techniques and process improvement methodologies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performsanalysis and modeling for the department, analyzing and interpreting complex data, statistics and spend information. Applies statistical, economic, and financial analysis tools in support of business and policy analysis for clients in a variety of fields. Provides advanced analytics-based recommendations that will affect business strategies. Creates business models and cost models that predict possible outcomes based on adjusting variables. Develops quantitative cost benefit or risk models, mines project-related databases to assess trends and/or patterns and their ramifications from a policy or program perspective. Acts as an internal consultant by integrating with departmental customers to identify opportunities, scope and define business problems, performing data analysis, and generating self-service solutions to address needs.
  • Oversees end to end development of statistical, predictive, and optimization deliverables required for submissions to regulatory authorities for assigned projects/studies. Participates in process improvement and system deployment activities. Assumes responsibility for special projects/teams involving procurement planning, establishing time tables, activity plans and strategic recommendations; utilizes various communication methodologies tailored to interact with senior level administrators, diverse procurement teams,
  • Identifying, recommending, implementing supplier catalog items, products and/or services consistent with requirements across the enterprise. Makes recommendations concerning use of procurement resources and management of systems. Partners with senior leadershipto design and perform analyses and report creation, including identifying and interpreting trends, variations and implications for improvement initiatives. Partners with senior leadership for review, data interpretation, plan development and implementation for successful attainment of procurement objectives.
  • Designs, creates and merges disparate data files and/or warehouse data sets; determines best methods for efficient capture and merging of information from various data resources and access to tools to generate reports. Writes or assist in writing procedures that control reporting needs and processes; provides education/training to team members on generation and/or interpretation of data, statistical analysis and application to decision making to improve organization efficiency and outcomes.
  • Coaches junior analysts and programmers in the selection and use of technologies and models to use to support analysis. Coaches junior staff in the application of process improvement methodologies. Coordinates activities of assigned team members. Serves as backup to the Information Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor's degree in related discipline required; Bachelor's degree in Data Science or Data Analytics or MBA preferred. 5+ years of applicable experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a Purchasing and Supply Chain related function preferred. Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to identify opportunities through solo experimentation and cross-functional collaboration required.Experience querying databases, integrating disparate data, and using data visualization tools required. Leadership, communication, and project management skills required. Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Six Sigma Green Belt or similar preferred.
