About the team
You will be part of the Platform Design and Engineering team that supports the FIS's New Aquiring Platform. Our New Acquiring Platform (NAP) is pioneering a payment revolution, equipping us for the spending habits of tomorrow, as well as today. On completion, we'll be able to deliver unrivalled insights into every trade and transaction - helping our partners prosper and understand their customers even better. The Platform Design and Engineering teams mission statement is to design, engineer, build and integrate components and environments that enable rapid development and deployment of stable and secure systems.
What you will be doing
Delphix DBA engineer will support a centralized FIS Delphix practice. The role requires the engineer to work as part of a large team. Activities will include designing, coding, testing, reviewing and adjusting large and complex Ansible playbooks, based on supplied specifications and using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. The Delphix DBA is working alongside the Infrastructure and Development teams to coordinate cross-department change, ensuring optimum service availability whilst maximising the throughput of required change. Designing/building and documenting large and complex Delphix environments and supporting other teams in other FIS pillars in
adopting Delphix as a Data Platform.
l Handle the Delphix capacity planning based on FIS growth/needs Databases growth,
l Maintenance and improve Delphix system performance
l Maintain Delphix software lifecycle
l Identify ways to adapt/change Delphix implementation to FIS business needs
l Working with complex Delphix configurations/engines in large infrastructure environments
What you bring:
l Experience with Delphix in complex configuration and environments
l Experience in working with Exadata in complex infrastructures
l Excellent knowledge of RMAN backup concepts and recovery scenarios.
l A good knowledge of physical database design.
l Oracle RAC databases, ASM, grid infrastructure version 12c and above working experienceExcellent knowledge of Data Guard
l Good communication skills
l Automation skills using Ansible.
Added bonus if you have:
l Cloud Database Experience
l GIT
l Experience with any devops tools - Puppet/Jenkins/GenRocket/Chef
l Experience with scripting - perl/python/bash
l Experience with other relational database systems
