Job Purpose:

Dedicated Database Services deliver database and data caching technologies for Citi applications with unique performance and/or functional requirements. The Database Shared Services Lead delivers common functions such as monitoring and auditing across all database product cluster groups. This strategy enables new and existing database services to be integrated to Citi internal processes in a consistent way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer monitoring solutions according to Citi operational requirements
  • Integrate database auditing and monitoring tools with upstream and downstream systems
  • Deploy, maintain and operationally support the infrastructure that provide these services
  • Respond to audits and regulatory inquiries on controls and operational processes
  • Provide reporting on privileged access incidents and potential cyber threats
  • Manage global team of engineers and operational support staff



Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience:

Around 5+ years of experience in following areas:

  • Experience in configuring and supporting database security features (e.g. auditing, encryption, access controls)
  • Experience in monitoring tools for enterprise database platforms (e.g. Oracle Enterprise Manager, Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, MongoDB Ops Manager)
  • Experience in product testing, product certification and/or operational support of database platforms


Skills:

Mandatory Skills:

Around 5+ years of experience in following skills:

Working knowledge of auditing products - Guardium SQL Guard, Guardium Big Data Intelligence Working knowledge of OEM, SCOM, MongoDB Ops Manager, BMC Patrol Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases - Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j

Desirable Skills:

Ability to define Process Control Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures Ability to triage production issues and define recovery plans Knowledge of agile SCRUM practices, JIRA

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering

  • Demonstrates self-motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Capable and willing to work independently as well as in cross-functional and cross-location teams
  • Ability to provide presentations to Management and large audiences
  • Capable of defining cost models and optimizing technology spend and licensing
