About the Role:


As we continue to make significant investments in growing our Data and Analytics functions, and are looking for a Data Solutions Architect to play a key role in our data architecture. In this role, you’ll ensure the Transfix data architecture is scalable, sustainable, flexible and can co-exist synchronously within our overall tech stack to deliver data in an accurate (and timely) manner. You’ll also assess our current tools, platforms, and processes to identify any gaps, and create the roadmap to support our Enterprise Data Warehouse.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Assess the current state of our data sources (both internally and externally) and design a plan to ensure the data platform and data models are sustainable and scalable
  • Create standardization for our data building blocks and modify processes or automations to increase efficiency, data quality and sustainability as Transfix continues to grow
  • Assess and understand our current tech stack as it exists today and develop a plan to improve the overall data platform architecture and individual components
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into databases, data warehouse and data streams that improve the user experience
  • Partner across the organization to devise and implement data strategies and data models that support various business units
  • Own the data architecture lifecycle from creation to consumption spanning both our data engineering and data warehouse teams.
  • Manage all tooling, processes, and applications for data delivery while continuously assessing opportunities for improvement across all of these areas
  • Lead the Data Masking process by determining areas for pseudonymization and anonymization of data where appropriate
  • Create and manage the processing and tooling for effective data onboarding efficiencies Lead the data auditing and logging processes and determine the necessary tools for an efficient and simplistic process
  • Determine automation strategies for data processes that aim to make access Continuously make improvements to the data platform by always searching for opportunities to find processes and tools
  • Lead the development efforts of open source applications and tooling by utilizing tools such as AirFlow, DBT, and any others you determine to be effective.
  • Establish contracts with teams that produce or source data on tooling, SLAs, formatting and others

How to know this role is right for you:

  • You have 5+ years of Data Warehouse Platform experience - Preferably as a Data Solutions Architect, Data Architect or Data Warehouse Engineer
  • You understand how to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders; you’re as comfortable speaking with a Software Engineer as you are with a Finance Executive
  • You’re a SQL expert and are comfortable querying SQL from a variety of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • You’ve worked with a Snowflake data warehouse and are comfortable with a variety of Snowflake related tasks, tools, and processes
  • You have coding experience and have worked with one or more OOP languages such as Ruby, Python, Java or other similar programming languages
  • You’ve worked with open source applications
  • You are familiar and understand the overall software development life cycle and have worked in a capacity that requires adherence to it
  • You’re comfortable with both structured and unstructured data and have worked with both in a Data Platform context
  • You have experience with streaming and batch processing
  • You’ve done data sourcing and processing with CDC, API, files, DB logs, DB access, among others
  • You’re a resourceful team player that can span influence across to engineering and business stakeholders
  • You love to mentor more junior team members and are comfortable sharing your knowledge and experience with others who want to learn from you.
