THE ROLE
Mint House is seeking an analytically inquisitive data scientist to help drive strategic business decisions, power key product features, and solve problems that directly improve the guest experience. This is an opportunity to work with senior leadership to accelerate the organization's mission: transforming hospitality — fundamentally changing the way we live, work and play away from home. The Data Scientist will report directly to the Head of Data Science.
AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL
- Acquire, manage, and organize large raw sets of data to develop data-driven business insights - such as cost benefit, forecasting, & experiment analysis
- Work cross-functionally to find opportunities and recommend prioritization of product, growth, and optimization initiatives with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information
- A/B testing hypotheses to interpret results to draw accurate, detailed, and impactful decisions
- Participate in the end-to-end process including conception, development, production, deployment, and monitoring of data models and services to optimize room pricing (competitive set, price positioning, occupancy, seasonality)
- Use a combination of exploratory analysis and data mining techniques to generate actionable insights about the guest experience
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Science, advanced analytics, or similar experience in applying statistical methods and techniques with high levels of proficiency
- Technical competence to perform advanced analytics: coding skills (Python preferred), experience with analytics and visualization tools (SQL or equivalent)
- Experience with data science frameworks - such as Pandas, Tensorflow
- The Inquisitive mentality of an entrepreneur/owner, who has a strong bias to action
