Our work depends on a Data Scientist II joining our team to support the CMS Quality Data Analytics and Services (QDAS) contract.

A Data Scientist II:

Researches best practices and supports developing the solutions and recommendations for the current business operations, performs routine business analysis using various techniques (e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining), provide business data interpretation, work with the internal or external client to identify analytical requirements and produces ad hoc data and reports.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Contributing to completion of specific programs and projects.
  • Developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Utilizing advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in data.
  • Using predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes.
  • Working with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of less-experienced professionals.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BA/BS and or 5+ years of work experience.
  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in Python, R, and SAS; understanding how to perform data manipulation tasks with these languages, as well as the ability to create new functions on their own when needed.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the CMS Healthcare Quality Analytics and Reporting contract highly preferred.
  • SAS Certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures of statistical analysis.
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills.
  • Effective communications skills.
  • Experience manipulating data with SAS and creating output used by MS Office products.
  • Experience with Medicare Claims.
