CareJourney’s Technology team is looking for a talented, motivated, and high-performing Data Engineering Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a team of data engineers. You’ll split your time between unblocking your team, vetting their designs, and coaching them to realize their full potential, while also building things yourself.
  • Proactively mentor and grow the team, identify the required skills, hire the best talent, actively manage their performance and help them to grow to their fullest potential.
  • Drive the development and deployment of new data pipelines into production.
  • Proactively identify, plan, and organize upgrades and improvements to our systems and processes.
  • Negotiate feature sets and deployment plans with the development leads and product teams
  • Review and write technical specifications designed to solve problems or enhance solutions in accordance with functional requirements.
  • Conduct reviews with team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance.

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science, data engineering, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • 5+ years working with data processing systems focusing on data warehousing, ETL, orchestration, and business intelligence.
  • 5+ years experience with software development (Python preferred), understanding of core software development principles.
  • 7+ years experience with SQL and relational database systems, snowflake experience a plus.
  • Proven skill and experience in critical thinking, innovation, problem solving, recommending successful solutions, and the planning and implementation of such solutions.
  • Experience with delivering small, medium and large integration and Data analytics projects.

Preferred experience

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in computer science or related field.
  • Experience managing offshore and remote team members.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and environments.
  • Experience with task automation and scripting.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow, aws data pipeline, or custom solutions.
  • Experience with spark, hadoop, and other big data technologies.
