Job Summary:

This position will support the Permian Drilling group by preparing technical data for interpretation, conducting analysis of data, creating visualizations and dashboards, and managing complex projects; including various aspects of data management, database management, automation, process improvements and data integration. This individual must be able to recommend, develop and support implementation of new processes, and must be knowledgeable with data models and management for analysis and data integrity to assist the Drilling Department initiatives towards making data driven decisions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated reports, conduct analysis and provide insight into key performance metrics and create final displays of the results, often for formal presentations.
  • Evaluate current processes around data entry, data QC, report distribution and provide recommendations and solutions on optimizing existing processes.
  • Able to summarize data and to assemble tables, digital graphics and maps in PowerPoint presentations. Able to identify trends and correlations as well as outliers and data busts.
  • Must be able to recognize and identify data problems and research suitable solutions and or workarounds.
  • Identify and provide solutions for process redundancies/inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
  • Continuously seek feedback from the customers and provide analytics/reporting as needed.
  • Mentor other techs/analysts within the team.



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in data analytics, computer science, mathematics, or related area. Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an analyst role is preferred. Advanced coursework / Internships will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB or similar is highly preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization ex: Spotfire,Tableau, PowerBI applications is preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx preferred.
  • Proficient skills designing complex SQL queries required
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Performs complex analytics, generates insightful dashboards and or can write code to automate basic redundant workflows/processes.
  • Works with technical staff and professionals.
