Congressional Affairs Operations Analyst
Key Role:

Provide comprehensive support services for daily operations to a Department of Defense client on Congressional matters. Develop and draft risk assessments and analysis of legislative language, Congressional member interest, and staff perspectives regarding critical, time-sensitive, strategic and operational SAP matters, and incorporate understanding of the Planning, Programming, and Execution System, the structure and function of the Defense and Intelligence Oversight Committees, and the defense and intelligence authorization and appropriation legislative processes to recommend courses of action pertaining to Departmental SAP matters to the DoD client. Work independently to develop detailed plans, tasks, milestones, and schedules to ensure proper satisfaction of Congressional requests for information, document delivery, and other time sensitive tasks. Review, assess, and prepare documentation for classified material couriering and use SAP-related information technology systems and processes to verify access, produce reports, and ensure security regulations are adhered to in all scenarios.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with legislative and regulatory documents
  • Experience with researching and writing background papers, talking points, and verbal and written statements, including providing legislative briefings to leadership
  • Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Special Access Programs and associated Congressional processes, including security processes
  • Ability to prepare leadership for testifying to and meeting with government members and pertinent staff members
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to act in a proactive manner with actions focused on problem-solving and analyze the implementation of systems and procedures to ensure that projects and documents are kept on track and internal and external deadlines are met
  • Possession of excellent organizational skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
