Position Description:

This position is 100% remote - you must live in the State of Ohio to be considered.

CGI Federal's Housing Sector team that partners with public housing authorities (PHAs) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist in the provision of affordable housing has an opening for a Business and Reporting Analyst. This is an opportunity to join an energetic team with a collaborative management group and work with affordable housing providers. New team members receive in-depth training to prepare them for their role. Additional training and professional development opportunities are also available for both the affordable housing industry and general business skills.

The Business and Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support in the areas of data management, documentation and analysis to support the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. The Business and Reporting Analyst supports the administration and maintenance of all software systems critical to the programs mission. This position performs business analysis using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and data mining. Determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for current business operations.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Business and Reporting Analyst oversees the development of new reports, the modification of existing reports and testing and release of all reports necessary to assist in the operations of the Housing Authority's affordable housing programs. The Business and Reporting Analyst is responsible for all user ID's and setting levels of system access. The Analyst monitors external interfaces between CGI's proprietary systems and client systems. Other duties may be assigned.
• Possess outstanding knowledge of HUD Policy Regulations, Guidelines, Handbooks, Notices, Memorandum of Understanding, Scope of Work, HCV Administrative Plans, and CGI Policy and Procedures and Compliance Requirements.• Provides analytic support in the areas of data management, documentation and analysis to support the Authority's federally funded Housing programs. • Responsible for designing, building and running regular and ad hoc reports to analyze policy implications and program performance. • Works closely with operational staff to provide technical assistance.• Responsible for ensuring the housing authority's data is well organized, accurate and verified, and accessible at all times. • Identifies and implements additional reporting and data analytics tools that may be needed to effectively administer, evaluate and improve our programs. The Business and Reporting Analyst works closely with and responds to data and reporting request from all program staff. • Assists Department Heads to ensure the monitoring, evaluating, researching, reporting on, developing and implementing internal controls of the HCV program are in compliance with Federal, State and Local law, program rules, regulations as well as the Authority's policies and procedures. • Analyzes HUD's Public and Indian Housing (PIH) Information Center (PIC) data.• Train staff on the use of department databases and other software programs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience in lieu of education.• Three (3) years of experience in the affordable housing industry preferred. • Extensive knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques required.• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications software. • Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, policies, and regulations as it relates to the HCVP operations. • Ability to: interpret the meaning of financial and operational records and documents; gather and classify information and prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports and charts; coordinate work activities; make independent decisions; require minimal supervisory support; perform assigned tasks timely and accurately; identify and communicate any areas requiring improvement and work closely with case management team to work towards resolution; communicate and share ideas clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationship with CGI members and clients; deal effectively with situations requiring tact and diplomacy. • Must have strong computer skills and be able to enter data in multiple electronic information systems.
