The Opportunity

• Reporting to the Manager of Strategy and Analytics, this position's primary responsibilities will include supporting alternative consumer credit decision strategy development and performance analysis for the Ally Auto Consumer Operations group. The ideal candidate must be passionate about delivering results, must be an innovative and strategic thinker, willing to challenge status quo, can learn quickly, is self-motivated, detail oriented, and can sift through voluminous amounts of information to pinpoint which items are relevant to understanding business results. They will be able to apply knowledge of business and balanced judgment in interpretation of data (analytics).

The Work Itself

• • Provide analytical and data support in the design and review of various credit decision strategies and current operations.
  • Apply sound control processes into daily/weekly/monthly processes to effectively identify, assess and manage risk.
  • Maintain code to pull, sanitize, aggregate, conform, and produce operational and portfolio-level reports accurately.
  • Collaboratively work with matrix & vendor partners to ensure alignment with strategic imperatives.
  • Able to deliver accurate results within expected deadlines.

The Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred; BS or BA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Technology or related field.
• 1+ years of analytics experience.
• Experience and knowledge of consumer financing industry (e.g. auto, card, mortgage etc.) a plus.
• Strong MS Office suite skills required.
• Practical experience working with large datasets with SAS and/or SQL knowledge preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
