Overview:
We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Data Visualization Specialist who will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into impactful visual narratives. This individual will leverage various data sources and employ advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools to craft visualizations that simplify complex information for strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in bridging the gap between data and decision-makers, accelerating the organization’s value-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging and intuitive visual representations of data that effectively communicate insights to business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Convert diverse data sets into visually compelling charts, graphs, and maps that support both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Provide strategic guidance on the best visual approaches to convey information, tailored to the specific needs of each use case.
- Using the art of visual storytelling, combine data visualization with narrative techniques to drive impactful change within the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that visual content is both technically accurate and accessible to a broad audience.
Required Qualifications:
- 4-5+ years of experience in data visualization, ideally with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in creating data-driven visuals.
- Proficiency in leading visualization tools, with a preference for Power BI.
- In-depth knowledge of data visualization techniques and best practices for communicating insights effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Experience in data journalism.
- Competence in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
