About the Role
A Data Strategist must have experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.
What You’ll Do
TECHNICAL
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis
- Experience in data collection/tagging/tracking, cleaning, and mining
- Experience in visualizing data through different tools (Excel, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, R, etc.)
- Proficient in doing different types of analysis (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive) and when to apply each
- Experience working with and creating data architectures
- Has 2-5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications is preferred
- Experience using statistical tools and computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets is a plus, but not mandatory
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) a big plus, but not mandatory
- A Masters or PHD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field is a big plus, but not mandatory
DOMAIN
- Has working and updated knowledge of how data works in the digital landscape, primarily social media, ecommerce platforms, as well as website analytics
- Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.
- Experience working with data sets for creative/advertising agencies is a big plus, but not mandatory
What You’ll Need
- Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on marketing communication and business growth strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- 2-5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models,
- Related courses to Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
