A leading eDiscovery technology and consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC is looking for an evidence technician to assist the team. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong interest in the legal and technology fields, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service to our clients. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. This position requires a presence at the primary firm office in Washington, DC.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Coordinate directly with internal departments for incoming and outgoing evidence shipment
Communicate office needs or challenges to management effectively
Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute complex projects in a deadline-driven environment
Support the development, testing, and refinement of evidence-handling procedures
Ensure strict adherence to chain-of-custody protocols and best practices
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently
Conduct quality assurance checks on work products before delivery
Assist with archival and restoration of Relativity data
Apply strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address challenges efficiently
Prioritize projects effectively based on deadlines and scope of work
Perform additional office tasks as needed
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Maintain meticulous organization of digital and physical drives, storage, and network folders
Communicate clearly and effectively with managers and team members
Support data intake processes for the data center
Assist with data shipping and case closeouts, including deletion, archival, and restoration
Update chain-of-custody documentation accurately
Prepare base images for self-collection kits and collaborate with Forensics on quality assurance
Demonstrate a quick aptitude for learning new processes and tools
Ability to work certain weekends and some holidays
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Exceptional organizational skills for managing data storage, computer devices, hard drives, evidence intake, and shipping
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and departments
Self-motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently as needed
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (ie. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.)
THE FOLLOWING SKILLS ARE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Familiarity with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
Knowledge of copy tools (e.g., RoboCopy, TeraCopy), BAT (batch files) scripting, etc
General technical computer experience
