Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Role:
GM's Creative Design's Asset Creation Team is seeking a Data Specialist to join the team supporting the standard work of the organization; building on the pipeline supporting Design, Engineering, and Marketing assets. In this role, you will join a team of creative Visualization Designers, creating and developing appropriate visualization experiences for GM leadership and vehicles. Being able to harness & prep 3D CAD data for specific deliverables helps GM do more with the data we already create. You will join a team of Designers & Modelers with a large array of skills. It is crucial to work alongside the variety of skills & knowledge to figure out the best way to achieve files suitable of supporting design, engineering and marketing asks. The ideal candidate will understand complex levels of configuration in the automotive space.

What You'll Do:
- Harness, prep, understand and configure data from GM's database in the most efficient manner
- Understand deliverable end goals and prepare files accordingly
- Coordinate with various GM teams to ensure accuracy of end representation
- Work with various teams that use our prepped assets to learn what enables success
- Find efficiencies and enable pipeline improvements to shorten timelines
- Work with project management and product specialists to communicate findings
- Support and coordinate data workflow between various teams
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Ability to work within a variety of visualization software programs such as Team Center, Deltagen, Alias, Unreal Engine
- Ability to create geometry to fill in gaps utilizing various software (NX, Alias, Maya)
- Excellent communication skills within internal team, GM teams and external teams
- Ability to support fellow coworkers, including modeling
- Understanding of good artistic visualization including material & lighting
- Highly organized with an expert attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree preferred/equivalent industry related experience considered
- Experience (2+ years) including automotive
