As a Data Solution Engineer within ABN Amro Clearing you play a crucial role in moving our business forward. You will have responsibility for design and governance of IT solutions focused on data (Data Platform, Data Analytics & Reporting, Master & Reference Data Management and Metadata Management).
You will focus on the optimal use of our IT landscape and steer our change in the direction of our defined future state architecture. Today, but also in the future ABN Amro Clearing wants to use modern technologies and modern practices in data & analytics. The function of Data and IT Solution Engineer is best described as:
It is your job to oversee our application & data landscape. But also, to inspire, involve and activate the development teams with each and every change. You investigate, tune, and verify standards and strategic views with internal and external global stakeholders (e.g. product owners, business managers, IT managers, external authorities). You support decision making by creating, providing, and communicating clear deliverables.
You develop and maintain solutions architectures in line with global target architecture, global policies, security standards and best practices covering all aspects from business service down to related information technology (the full stack) to contribute to and increase the reliability, security, flexibility, quality, and cost efficiency of the global organization.

Working environment
As a Data Solution Engineer you are part of the CoE Architecture. You will work closely the Data Governance and Management organisation and play a pivotal role in the translation of the Data Strategy into implementable solutions.
Next to your day-to-day work, there is room to design, create and implement new processes that will be beneficial and will not be bound to Architecture only. We do so in an open and transparent way of working where your opinion is valued, and dialogue is encouraged. The atmosphere is lively and informal, closely monitoring a safe environment where everyone can share their thoughts, feelings, and worries. It is normal to make mistakes, and we help each other to grow better as learning is one of our main focuses.
Your profile
You have a unique combination of development experience with a passion for technology and have a strong interest in working in global capital markets. Your knowledge is up to date, so CI/CD, Cloud and Micro-services, streaming are nothing new to you. At the same time, you realize that our systems need to be up and running, the markets, our customers and our users depend on us. You have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the data and application domain, within a comparably complex environment (in- & external stakeholders, complex data and IT environment, different time zones and diverse cultures). You have experience with IT architecture and can think on a conceptual level. You have strategic and analytical skills and the ability to understand, inspire and activate others.
In more detail:
- Experience in data modeling, data integration and data architecture, data science, analytics, business intelligence and similar technologies.
- Experience with Cloud Data Platform Architecture for reporting & analytics (AWS is a plus).
- Knowledge of Reference and Master Data Management.
- Knowledge of data management principles and practices and Data Governance.
- Knowledge of the various aspects of Data and IT architecture (applications functions, software development; application platforms, data structures and interaction patterns, data storage & retention strategies, data security aspects).
- Knowledge and experience in architecture implementations and related methods and tools, such as TOGAF and Archimate.
- Knowledge of solutions and tools in the (big) data domain is considered a plus.
We are offering
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
- Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
- An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
