Data Scientist

In the role, you will work on research projects from ideation through delivery, applying mathematics and technical concepts to solve real-world problems in areas like finance, DeFi, gaming, and blockchain. Projects will be collaborative, so this role will need to work across teams to design and implement data models, analytical frameworks, and advanced algorithms. In addition, this role will ensure data integrity through validation and quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex research projects from ideation through implementation, including proof of concept and putting models into production with the software development team
• Apply mathematics and technical concepts to solve real-world problems in diverse areas, such as finance/DeFi, gaming, token economics, and blockchain
• Work with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, product managers, and engineers to contribute to software and data platforms
• Collaborate with fellow researchers to design data models and analytical frameworks
• Provide clean, reliable data for analysis, model inputs, and results analysis
• Implement data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity
• Apply industry expertise to derive insights and interpret from complicated datasets, such as financial transaction and in-game transactions
• Create systems for testing models and algorithms using simulation frameworks and mathematical models
• Develop and implement advanced algorithms for various applications, including probabilistic modeling, real-time data processing and rendering, and mathematical proofs
• Meticulously document research, processes and results to facilitate knowledge sharing

Qualifications

• Degree in mathematics, computer science, economics, engineering, or a related field
• Over 10 years of experience applying mathematics and technical computing to solve real-world problems in diverse fields
• Knowledge of DeFi, traditional finance, Web3, or gaming sectors
• Proven track record of developing and implementing complex computational algorithms and models
• Strong understanding of data modeling, analytical frameworks, and/or simulation techniques
• Expertise in developing and implementing data validation and quality assurance processes
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, product managers, and engineers
• Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills
