We're looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about all aspects of data – digging deep to explain observations or gain business insights, turning complex data into intuitive visualizations, transforming it to simplify future tasks and building machine learning models to provide the business with accurate predictions.
This role is based in our Mountain View, CA office and is hybrid in office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
What You’ll Do:
- Share ownership and maintenance responsibilities of our entire data warehouse, including 50-100 million events coming through a Kafka queue each day, a 20 node Cassandra cluster, a 15 TB relational database, and an integration with Google BigQuery.
- Monitor and analyze the team’s A/B tests and proactively communicate key insights within your team and to external stakeholders.
- Be the voice of data by supporting the team's product owner in finding business opportunities, defining KPIs, and setting team goals.
- Provide leadership with data pulls, analyses and deep dives that significantly influence important company decisions.
- Create and update ETLs as our source data and data needs evolve
- Build data visualizations and reports using Tableau
- Build, maintain, and improve machine learning models (neural networks, logistic regressions, boosted trees, k-means clustering, etc.)

What You’ll Bring To The Role:
- 3-5 years of experience in a Data Science or related role (experience with web analytics is a plus)
- BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (master’s degree or PhD a plus)
- Strong proficiency in SQL (Google BigQuery and MySQL)
- Experience writing code (Python and Java/Groovy)
- A willingness to work in a face-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects
- A passion for innovation and learning with a driven mindset
- Excellent communication skills
Nice To Have:
- Experience creating complex data visualizations with Tableau
- Hands-on experience with advanced statistical concepts, such as cluster analysis, singular value decomposition, gradient descent, etc.
- Knowledge of web analytics software and best practices
- Strong ability to use Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT, copilot, etc.) to assist with technical tasks
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year. Pay and is dependent upon factors including skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
