This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplined team of experienced individuals who drive the opportunity identification and solution design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics across the global enterprise. The team is responsible both for analytics strategy and project-based solutions, focusing on the company's most critical business areas.
As a Scientist, you will be responsible for working on a team seeking to solve GM's most pressing challenges using AI, Machine Learning, and other Advanced Analytics methodologies. You will be responsible for the entire data science lifecycle process across multiple product workstreams, from initial investigation, to proof-of-concept development, to productionization and deployment, to final enhancement, hardening and maintenance.
What You'll Do:

  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team to implement high-impact data driven analytic solutions that address business challenges across a variety of business units.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Analyze large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Create end-to-end CICD pipelines in both cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Develop UI applications to deliver insights to business clients.
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Monitor and sustain model effectiveness.
  • Present complex information using data visualization techniques.
  • Create repeatable and scalable code bases and processes for improving development/execution efficiency.


Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • A degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics or a related degree (MS or Ph.D. preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years working as a data scientist or application developer (2 years with MS).
  • Expertise in Python, Databricks and other cloud-based data science platforms, and proficiency in SQL.
  • Expertise across multiple domains of forecasting, clustering, classification, econometrics, optimization, Bayesian statistics, neural networks, deep learning, natural language processing, LLMs, and other machine learning and AI methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated working experiences with cross-function product teams.

Additional Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
