Description

Markon is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Computer Network Operations for the Fort Meade Customer. The Data Scientist will apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to assess, integrate, and enhance Computer Network Exploitation capabilities. This role focuses on evaluating emerging technologies—particularly Large Language Models—to determine their effectiveness and applicability within mission operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the CNO mission by applying AI/ML techniques to CNE tools, data, and operational workflows.
  • Assess Large Language Models (LLMs) for effectiveness, limitations, and applicability to CNE capability integration and utilization.
  • Analyze mission data using mathematical and statistical methods to support AI/ML model development and evaluation.
  • Perform data normalization, processing, and visualization to support analytic insights and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement analytic and ML workflows using Python.
  • Collaborate with mission operators, tool developers, and engineers to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI/ML approaches that enhance operational effectiveness while accounting for mission constraints and risk.
Qualifications

Required

  • TS/SCI with Active Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Required experience with AI/ML development or application, combined with Computer Network Exploitation familiarity.
  • Strongly preferred experience supporting the CNO community, including exposure to CNO tools and capabilities.
  • Required experience assessing or applying LLMs in operational or analytic contexts.
  • Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
  • Required experience with Python for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Experience performing data normalization and visualization to support analytic outcomes.
Salary RangeUSD $170,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
