As a Data Scientist Sr within PNC’s EDM ACC Data Science organization. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographical locations.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI/ML solutions, deep learning, and cloud computing. This role involves leading projects from conception to deployment, requiring a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for data-drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement AI and machine learning solutions from initial concept to production deployment.
- Apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, such as regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosted decision trees (XGBoost, LightGBM), KNN, and t-SNE
- Develop and optimize deep learning models using tools such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet
- Explore and integrate generative AI technologies such as OpenAI, Llama 2, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, and RAG applications.
- Utilize AWS SageMaker for scalable cloud computing and machine learning model deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, formulate technical approaches, and deliver actionable insights.
- Maintain and manage project timelines and deliverables using JIRA.
- Continuously stay abreast of the latest AI/ML advancements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions.
- Strong proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI technologies and vector databases.
- Proven track record of successful cloud computing implementation, preferably with AWS SageMaker.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like JIRA.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Bayesian statistics and causal inference.
- Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with Shiny and Streamlit.
- Experience with graph network analysis (networkx, Neo4J)

Job Description

• Leads the implementation of analytical projects that leverage vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights.
• Directs the data gathering, data processing and data mining of large and complex datasets.
• Leads the development of algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques like machine learning to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions to management.
• Leads analytical experiments in a methodical manner to find opportunities for product and process optimization. Presents business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling.
• Partners with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions for the business.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
